In December 2009 Samantha Dewhirst, founder of COE, with help
from the murryfoundation & generous COE supporters, jumped on a plane to assist Wilmar Animal Sanctuary after its
founder suddenly passed away, leaving the primates undergoing rehabilitation there with an uncertain and fragile future.
In April 2010, Samantha, Rita Miljo, Stephen Munro and the team from CARE, Animal Rights Africa (funded transport
costs) & Identipet (whom donated microchips), South Africa's Nature Conservation (special thanks to Tim de Johng)
embarked on a rescue mission to relocate the primates and dogs undergoing rehabilitation at Wilmar.
See some of
orphans we rescued below and please help give them a secure and excting future by either ADOPTING or DONATING.
By adopting or dontaing to support an
orphan you are directly contributing to their future. We hope to release these primates back into the wild, which requires
securing and protecting a large wilderness area. These little ones are lucky to be alive, and to continue with the rehabillitation
process is expensive.
Please help them have a future as right now with limited funds it is hard to remain
optimistic for them. There are oblivious to the daily struggles of the sanctuary, it is a constant battle to simply
feed them, let alone find the resources to maintain a great enclosure or find a safe release site.
You donation
will contribute towards food, their enclosure, veterinary bills and enabling them to be realeased into the wild.
If you adopt an orphan you recieve an A4 quality photo and description of your primate. A certificate of adoption!
A DVD which involves footage of the troop and chosen primate and updates every 6 months.
You can choose the following
adoption packages;
Individual Adult Adoption £80 per year
Individual Childs Adoption £40 per year
Corporate or school group
£100 per year
Or you can set up a standing order with your bank, to pay us monthly to support an orphan.
Just send us an email and state the amount you wish to doanate, as little as £1 per month or as much as you can afford
will make a difference. (Monthly donations below £5 per month will not recieve 'adoption' merchandise
as this will not be enough to cover the costs of the materials used to produce them, however you can recieve the same material
via email which you can print for yourself).
